JTBD – Jobs to Be Done PowerPoint Template
The Jobs to Be Done PowerPoint Template provides a practical visual framework for understanding what customers are trying to accomplish and what outcomes they expect from a product or service. Based on the Jobs to Be Done methodology, it helps teams look beyond product features and examine customer tasks, motivations, needs, and desired results. The structured presentation layout can make customer research and product planning easier to organize and present.
The framework includes eight consumption jobs that represent different stages of a customer journey:
- Define: The main customer need or job can be clearly identified.
- Locate: The resources, products, or information needed to complete the job can be found.
- Prepare: The customer can be prepared to use the selected solution.
- Confirm: Important details or decisions can be checked before action.
- Execute: The main task can be completed using the product or service.
- Monitor: Progress and results can be observed during the process.
- Modify: Changes can be made when customer needs or circumstances change.
- Conclude: The job can be completed and the final outcome can be evaluated.
The JTBD PowerPoint template also includes Related Jobs and Emotional Jobs to capture supporting tasks and factors such as confidence, trust, and reassurance. A Desired Outcomes section categorizes outcomes as over-served, underserved, table stakes, and irrelevant, helping teams identify areas for improvement and opportunity.
The JTBD template can be used by product managers, UX researchers, marketers, consultants, strategists, and innovation teams for customer research, product discovery, service design, feature prioritization, and market analysis.
