Presentation approaches is a must quality to be in a presenter. A great communicator needs potential skills and talents to engage the audience in a workplace. It may seem as if some people are with the knack to captivate and move audiences to act while others may tussle to get a simple point across. The interesting thing is, becoming a master presenter and ultimately a master communicator can be achieved with effort and practice. For instance, the great orator Demosthenes was a stutter; he has improved his communicating and elocution qualities through continuous and repetitive practice. Practising is the only way to make perfect. Langue is the powerhouse of any effective communication. However, beyond language, there are other things which will facilitate your public presentation. In this essay, I want to share a few important concepts that may help you with future presentations.

Over the last fifty years, the business communication consultants have analyzed the presentation approaches, interpersonal communication skills and presentation strategies of the best presenters. But the important thing is, one who has excellent communication skills in individual situations may not have good communication skill in a group situation.

Despite erratic personalities, speaking styles, and experience, master presenters always use these three presentation approaches.

  • The relevance of nonverbal communication for a purpose- Communication experts have studied that gestures have an immense effect upon the brains capacity to interpret. Studies say that using nonverbal communication can boost the brain’s ability to make sense of information and is crucial in how we process our thoughts. Good communicators naturally use gestures to show intentionality and will avoid using the same gestures over and over again. The basic is gesturing should be done to improve your message, not take away from it. That means most effective gestures are spontaneous and purposeful. They are the outward manifestation of your inner thoughts and feelings. Use gestures with a purpose in public speaking situations, and you will engage your audience, and help them comprehend and remember your concept. When you give presentation, be sure to find ways to highlight your spoken words with hand gestures and eye contact. You can practice this before any talk by spending five or ten minutes in a week and talking in front of a mirror. When you speak, look at your body position, how your hands move, how your gestures are matched with your words, even examine your facial expressions and tone.
  • Generate powerful body movements- how you move during a presentation is just as important as when you move to enhance your talk. Communication researchers have examined the role that body movements have on the speaking performance of master communicators. Studies have shown that using powerful actions, placing your hands on your hips or fist fight with air can trigger increase hormones that can amplify the feeling of confidence. It is these boosts in confidence that can help communicators become more animated and engaging, pulling the audience into the message. Your body movements and position can contribute to how you feel and in turn how your audience perceives you. Be sure to decisively regulate your movements and posture to project confidence and authority. Take time frequently to record yourself and observe the way you naturally move when you feel confident. Examine your movements and try to mimic them when you speak to embody confidence.
  • Value the importance of pictures- the human brain is better able to comprehend and recall a message if it has a pictorial component associated with it. PowerPoint presentations provide these advantages with colourful presentation graphics. This could be a decorative picture painted with words in the form of imagery or an analogy given by a speaker. Studies have found that an audience’s memory recall capacity increases up to 60% when a picture is used during a presentation. As you prepare for your next speech, trace meaningful graphics to accompany your message.

To be a master presenter and communicator takes time and need dedication to improving. These presentation approaches should be analysed again and again to improvise the presentation skills. To elevate communication skills and interpersonal capacities, a presenter should look his body movements and gestures and engage with repeating rehearsals which will ensure the transmission of your message.
