How to Loop Your PowerPoint Presentations
Have you ever wanted to loop a presentation? This basically means that your presentation would run by itself, on a screen, on and on again, without any interaction needed from you. This is particularly useful during exhibitions, trade shows, or even sometimes in educational settings when you want your PowerPoint slides to run automatically without manual intervention.
To do this, normally you’d use slides that are specifically designed for promotional, or even educational purposes. Like the following slides:
Feel free to check out the above slides. And if you want more slides that you can customize, plus a free tool to improve your PowerPoint experience, check out our add-in.
Now, let’s go through a step-by-step guide on how you can set your PowerPoint slides and presentations to loop continuously.
👉 Step 1: Choose the presentation.
Open the PowerPoint presentation file you wish to loop.
Next, run a quick check to ensure that your slides are in the right order, and that you’ve added all the content you need on them, before proceeding to the looping process.
👉 Step 2: Slide Show tab.
Now, go to the Slide Show tab in the PowerPoint ribbon. This is where you can control many aspects of the slide show. What we need here is the Set Up Slide Show Button in the “Set Up” category.
Clicking on it will launch a window like this:
In the Show options category, tick the box that says Loop continuously until ‘Esc’.
This will cause your slides to keep looping, until you press the Esc button. Press OK when you’re done.
👉 Step 3: Adjust timings of each slide (optional).
You also have the option to adjust the timing of each slide. To do this, go to the Transitions tab, and set the duration you want each slide to be visible. You can click on Apply To All to apply the same timing to all slides, or you can adjust the timing of each slide as per your needs.
👉 Step 4: Start your presentation.
All that’s left now for you to do is to start your presentation. Go to the Slide Show tab, and select From Beginning, or press the F5 key.
You presentation will now run in a continuous loop until you press the ‘Esc’ button.
Remember to save the presentation once you’re done, and you’re done. You now have a presentation that loops automatically on its own without any intervention on its own.
