The V Model gets its name from its shape, and this SDLC V Model PowerPoint template mirrors that structure exactly, decomposing system requirements down the left side of the V and mapping the corresponding verification steps back up the right side. The left leg moves through Regional Architecture, Detailed Design, Requirements Definition, and High-Level Design, narrowing the system’s scope with each phase until it reaches a central Software and Hardware Implementation node at the base of the V. From there, the right leg climbs back up through Low-Level Design, Subsystem Verification, System Development, Operation and Maintenance, and Replacement or Retirement, with horizontal arrows connecting each decomposition phase directly to its matching verification step.

That pairing is the whole point of an SDLC V Model diagram, showing an audience that every design decision has a corresponding test built around it rather than treating design and testing as separate, disconnected activities. Color-coded banners mark each top-level step, and a dashed timeline axis running underneath keeps process duration visible without cluttering the diagram. Every label, arrow, and color in this SDLC V Model template stays editable, so phase names, timelines, and banner colors can shift to match a specific project or organization. Systems engineers use this SDLC V Model slide to map development lifecycles, QA leads use it to define test plans against each phase, and project managers use it to align cross-functional teams on methodology execution. Beyond standard software development, the same V-shaped structure adapts to hardware integration roadmaps or compliance milestone tracking, and it works the same way in both PowerPoint and Google Slides.
